Wallonia's registration tax: the coefficient for electric vehicles

Wallonia's registration tax (taxe de mise en circulation) depends on a coefficient that the official table assigns to an electric vehicle by engine power. This page shows the coefficient only.

CivilAuto explains the rules and helps you check your eligibility.

How the tax relief works

Coefficient

The registration tax (taxe de mise en circulation) on cars, mixed cars and minibuses in Wallonia, table valid from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027.

For an electric vehicle the CO2 factor of the formula (CO2/X) is 1. The energy coefficient of an electric or hydrogen vehicle is 0.01 with a power of 120 kW or less, 0.10 above 120 kW and up to 155 kW, 0.18 above 155 kW and up to 249 kW, and 0.26 with a power of 250 kW or more. The table is valid from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027. The power in kilowatts of the engine is shown in box P2 of the registration certificate.

This page shows no tax amount, base amount, saving or sum payable, and no comparison with the earlier regime.
